31 days....love is kind

Have you ever had a stranger smile at you and without warning it was the warmest feeling you could remember in a while?

It welcomed you, just you, not the day or the baggage you carry, but just you.

It's tenderness was almost too much to handle because you felt you didn't deserve it.

Love is kind.
That's all. Nothing fancy just kind. Like a smile, a door held open or an extra moment you take to listen.

Being kind isn't the hard part. It's that first step to being kind that's the hardest.

Let's face it, we'd all rather receive a gift than give a gift, and kindness is a gift.

It comes from a tender place inside us. The place where we choose another rather than self.

Love is kind.
Kindness reminds us of the Love we have from the Lord and breaks the silence in the middle of the pain.

It greets us in the crowds with familiarity and calms us when we're scared.

For some of us, this puts us into very uncomfortable territory because it might mean we need to

change our words or tone with a spouse or child. We are called to put the hurt feeling aside.

More than anything, I hope the loving kindness we give and receive - one smile or

moment at a time - will come to mean we are opening our eyes to Gods crazy love for us.

Love is kind.
1 Cor. 13:4
